Hwy. 62 along 19th Street from University Avenue to Avenue A. The project will be developed with the Federal Highway Administration and financing construction will be 50 per cent state and 50 per cent federal, spokesman said. Bids are to be let on the proposed improvements in the near future, according to THD officials. Federal Highway Administration approval of the project has been requested.
The proposal Includes plans to rebuild and widen the existing facility to a 78- foot curb and gutter section. Design provides for four through lanes, two parking lanes and a continuous left turn lane. Usual right of way width will be 90 feet. Encroachments in the existing right of way will be relocated, officials noted. Hashish Charge Names Lawyer AUSTIN (AP) A 35-year-old lawyer was arrested while visiting the Travis County jail Friday and charged with illegal possession of hashish. Peace Justice Don Cantrell set bond at $5,000 for the lawyer Gilbert Wright of Austin. Sheritt T. O. Lang said Wright WAS arrested after he was searched by deputies outside the cellblock area, Lang said prisoners told him that hashish was being smuggled into the jail.
