To use the Smithy, pick the kind of metal sheet you want to make. Then wait for the furnace timer to finish smelting the materials. After that, start hammering the glowing ball until it’s flat, making sure to only hit when the hammer is yellow.

Once fully flattened, the glowing ball will turn into different metal sheets. These can be used for upgrades and improvements on the ship.

Unlocking the Smithy

To unlock the Smithy, you will need two things:

• The spirit Gustav
• Master Blueprint Station

Start by heading to Furogawa (X: 150, Y: 67) and talk to the spirit standing on the porch of a small house. This is Gustav, and he will ask for a request:

Step 1: Go to the Raccoon Shop and ask for Gustav’s missing Woodblock Print. The owner will tell you it’s already sold to a “mysterious collector.”

Step 2: Report back to Gustav, and he’ll give you a small figurine in return. He’ll also give you coordinates: X: -150, Y: 150, or Susan’s Museum. Note that this location requires the Ice Breaker boat improvement.

Step 3: Go to the museum, exchange the small figurine for the Woodblock Print, and give it to Gustav. He will then join your ship.

With Gustav on your ship, follow his questline until he gives you “The Master Forger” request, where he’ll ask you to build the Smithy.

Once this happens, head to Albert’s Shipyard and purchase the Master Blueprint Station upgrade. This requires:

• 12 Silica Powders
• 5 Comet Powders
• 5 Pulsar Ingots
• 12 Ash Planks

Once you have the upgrade, you should find the Smithy in your Blueprint Station.

How To Build the Smithy

You can also build more than one Smithy (if you really want to). However, doing this will double the cost of the materials until the fourth copy.

How To Use the Smithy

Once you finish building the Smithy, Gustav will head inside and teach you how to operate this facility.

But here’s a quick step-by-step of what you need to do:

Step 1: Open the furnace hatch and choose what kind of metal sheet you want to make. The Smithy will automatically show you which ones are available based on the materials you have.

Step 2: After choosing, wait for the furnace timer to finish melting the materials. How long this will be depends on the materials that you are trying to process.

Step 3: Once done, the furnace will release a hot glowing ball that Stella will need to flatten.

Step 4: Interact with the table and start hammering the ball. Make sure to only hit when the hammer is yellow. When the hammer does turn red, pause for a moment until it becomes yellow again, then continue hammering.

Step 5: Repeat this process until the ball is flattened, after which it will move under some water and become a glass sheet you can take.

The Smithy Improvement

The Smithy improvement is given to you as a reward after you reach 9 items in the Metals section at Susan’s Museum (X: -150, Y: 150).

After you build the improvement, all of the Smithy’s outputs will be doubled.
